This is a fun and easy way to introduce math concepts like: counting by twos, graphing, and comparing and contrasting.
Time: 5-15 minutes depending on how many blocks you use
Materials: Legos or similar blocks, a piece of paper divided into multiple columns with numbers across the top
Steps:
Grab a handful of Lego style blocks Place Legos in rows on the chart according to the number. Place four Legos in the row labeled “4”. Count together to see how many blocks are on each row
-OR-
Grab a handful of Lego style blocks Sort the blocks onto the chart paper matching the number of pegs on the Lego to the number on the chart: A block with two pegs would go in the row with the two. Compare each row, which number has the most? Which has the least?
